Welcome, fellow traveller and storyteller!

At Tour.UK.com, we have built a vibrant community of explorers who are passionate about discovering the hidden corners, iconic landmarks, and rich tapestry of cultures that make up the United Kingdom. While our core team shares its own experiences, we firmly believe that the most complete picture of British travel comes from a chorus of unique voices. That’s where you come in.

We are always on the lookout for passionate writers, amateur photographers, local experts, and insightful travellers to share their unique perspectives. If you have a story to tell about your adventures in England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland, we invite you to contribute to our blog and inspire our readers.

What We’re Looking For: Our Content Guidelines

We aim to publish content that is helpful, inspiring, and deeply authentic. Before you submit your idea, please ensure your pitch aligns with the following guidelines:

1. Topics We Love:

We are interested in well-researched, personal, and practical articles related to travel in the United Kingdom. Ideal topics include:

  • In-Depth Destination Guides: (e.g., “A Local’s Guide to Edinburgh’s Villages”)
  • Themed Travel Itineraries: (e.g., “A 7-Day Literary Tour of the UK”)
  • Activity and Interest-Based Guides: (e.g., “The Best Hikes in the Lake District”)
  • Cultural Deep Dives: (e.g., “Understanding Welsh Traditions”)
  • Practical Advice and Tips: (e.g., “How to Travel the UK on a Student Budget”)
  • Personal Travel Narratives: A compelling story with a clear takeaway for the reader.

2. Our Editorial Standards:

To maintain the quality our readers expect, all submissions must meet these standards:

  • Originality: We only accept 100% unique content that has not been published anywhere else, including your own blog.
  • Quality and Depth: Articles should be comprehensive, well-structured, and a minimum of 800 words. We value quality over quantity.
  • Engaging Tone: Write in a conversational, informative, and engaging tone—as if you’re advising a friend.
  • Factual Accuracy: All information, including prices, opening hours, and historical facts, must be accurate and up-to-date.
  • Visual-Ready: Please indicate where high-quality, original photos can be placed (we can add them later). You must own the rights to any images you submit.

What We Don’t Publish:

To ensure a great experience for our readers, we do not accept:

  • Generic, keyword-stuffed listicles with no personal insight.
  • Promotional content about your own business, services, or paid links.
  • Articles that have been spun, rewritten, or generated by AI.
  • Content that is offensive, defamatory, or plagiarized.

The Submission Process: How to Pitch Your Idea

To make the process smooth for everyone, please follow these steps:

Step 1: The Pitch

Don’t send a full article right away. Instead, please send us a brief, compelling pitch via email. Your pitch should include:

  • A working headline for your proposed article.
  • A short summary (2-3 paragraphs) explaining the angle and key points of your article.
  • A brief bio introducing yourself and your writing/travel experience.
  • A link to any previous published work (if available).

Step 2: Editorial Review

Our team will review your pitch and get back to you within 5-7 business days. If your idea is a good fit, we will send you formal guidelines and an invitation to submit the full article.

Step 3: Submission & Editing

Once invited, you can submit your full article as a Google Doc or Word document. Our editorial team will review it for structure, clarity, and adherence to our guidelines. We may suggest edits for SEO, readability, or flow. We will work with you collaboratively throughout this process.

Step 4: Publication

Once the final draft is approved, we will schedule it for publication. We will notify you once it is live and promote it across our social media channels. We encourage you to share it with your network as well!

Let’s Collaborate and Create Something Amazing

We are incredibly excited to hear your stories and see the UK through your eyes. We believe that every traveller has a unique story to tell, and we are committed to providing a platform for those voices.

We review every pitch with care and appreciation for the time and creativity you’ve invested.

We can’t wait to read your ideas and potentially welcome you as a featured writer on Tour.UK.com.

    Happy writing and happy travelling!
